Default UW Farming--Pulling?

I'm noticing that all 55 Monks seem to actually aggro Aatxes and the like when UW farming, thus putting themselves at risk of Nightmare spawns. Why does no one seem to use a longbow (or a native Storm Bow ) to pull the Aatxes from outside the aggro circle, preventing nightmares from spawning? Is there some reason I'm missing?

Unless I'm mistaken, the nightmares will spawn if aatxes in their aggro circle are activated. If this is untrue, please ignore this post.

+ Nightmares aren't really a problem if you use Spellbreaker. (I take it you mean 2 man UW farming)

Spirit Bond Monks can throw Spell Breaker on and then ignore the nightmares, they kill themselfs attacking the SB monk, so theres no need to lure

Not needed with Spellbreaker.

Nightmares will still pop when using a longbow in many cases.

You take the risk of your Necro being too close and getting killed (especially if they're not expecting you to pull with bow)

And finally, as long as you have a bit of experience as a 55, you'll probably want to run past them to agro a few groups anyway.

In case you didn't notice my avatar, I'm a 55 Mesmer, not Monk. This method seems to work fairly well for me, since I can only deal with one Nightmare if being attacked. I've never had Nightmares pop up when pulling Aatxes; they always come later when I run over to where they were.

You cast SB then charge in, whip out your wand and hit them twice. 15 sec SB +20% enchant mod +33% Blessed aura is an eternity to carry out that process. Don't be afraid of the Dying Nightmares.

ive noticed more and more that 55 monks are bringing in Shield of Judgment which is not only retarted but it runs the risk of a nightmare killing you and screwing it up for the Necro. As long as you have SB nightmares shouldnt be a problem what-so-ever.

The increasing Number of SoJ monks is the No speaking idiot Asian Farmers.. Half of them try to scam the necro by the area between the spawn point and the smiter area, and then go Ecto farm solo..

In case you didn't read my post, I'm a 55 Mesmer, with no Divine Favor, so SB lasts only 6 seconds more for me. If more than one Nightmare appears at once, is it possible for SB to block both their Rend Enchantments spells?

i wouldent count on it.. Ive herd that they dont use it at the same time, witch could be 1 using it, blocked by SB, then other use it after SB is gone... Also, way to risky to rely on a 1 sec cast time spell with the Aatxes interupting like gods..
So i would say stay with the Interupt when tanking as mesmer, a Monk have 25 Sec SB, youll have like 6 as you say...
But maybe use Power Return as the interupt, it has like 7 sec recharge, so you could aggro a group, PR the nightmare, and have it recharged while you wand the NM..
But still the Problem in case of more than 1 NM..
